Why the total changes by year
Fifty-two complete weeks contribute 260 weekdays. A common year has one extra calendar day and a leap year has two, so the weekday placement of those extra dates can increase the final total.
Example
Under Hourformula’s Monday-through-Friday model, 2026 has 261 weekdays. That figure is a calendar count before holidays or closures are considered.
