How to read this chart
Multiply hours by 60 to get minutes.
The conversion rule
One hour contains 60 minutes, so every row multiplies the hour value by 60.
minutes = hours × 60
Fractional-hour examples
A quarter hour is 0.25 × 60 = 15 minutes. A half hour is 0.50 × 60 = 30 minutes, and 0.75 hour is 45 minutes.
Values greater than one hour work the same way: 2.5 hours × 60 = 150 minutes.
When to use this chart
Use the table for common hour values. For a custom decimal such as 3.42 hours, use the Hours to Minutes Converter so the multiplication is performed from the exact value you enter.
